You can't possibly say the first one was awesome. The transformers were BARELY in it, the story was rubbish and Anthony Anderson shits me to tears.

Oh snap! :clapping:

I myself quite enjoyed the first movie, and can't wait 'til the second.

By the looks of the trailer, there'll be quite a bit more destruction in this one?

YAY!

Again, snap and well done Sin! :good:

Bev hasnt watched it on BluRay yet that is why he doesnt think it was epic :P

I liked the movie, and cant wait for the next one, hopefully one day it has the transforming planet now that would be a awesome scene if they pulled it off right.

But hey everyone likes something or not, its cool.

He's totally right though. True devotees agree, it was a let down. It may have been awesome in the sense that it was just giant robots, which by itself is pretty cool, it could have been so, so so much better.

What they should have done with the original, and will hopefully do with the next one is sit down and say "hey, lets make a really good movie, instead of just a crowd pleaser".

Of course making a movie based on a 1980's cartoon and comic book ect ect, is not going to appeal to the whole world, creating a movie that only "diehard" fans will know what's going on doesnt work, so of course they will cry when they go and watch the movie and it isnt as they expect. Realy take it for what it is. A movie about giant and sometimes small transforming robots :) it had great entertainment value and i think a good modern take on the world of Transformers, it's not like it hasnt evolved over the years, look at all the versions of transformers that was spawned from the original.

anyways i enjoyed it, and like putting it on every now and again for some giant robot action :)

I never watched the cartoon, I'm judging it purely as a movie. My problem was there wasn't ENOUGH giant f**king robot action. For a movie about Transformers, it sure as hell felt more like a dumb teen comedy for the most part, and a shakey modern action film (read, the camera moves so much you can't see all the special effects they spent so much money on) for the rest. When they finally got to the stuff people wanted to see, the fights were over in a matter of seconds, and the main villains weren't in it til the end of the bloody movie.

that usualy happens in the first film, establishing characters, Transformers 2 will be more action :) as we all know who they are now and dont care about them crying. Time to kick it into next gear :)

I agree on the shaky cam shit, sick of the bastards doing this at least it aint as bad as lame arse cloverfield now that was fucked!

Cloverfield was balls.

But that's the problem, they -should- have made the film for die-hard fans. They're the ones that made transformers so successful, so the team behind it owe it to those people.

But, of course, they're stingy tyrants interested in money only. It just means that they've lost their best customers, the ones that were there from the beginning.

Ah well, such is life.

I can already tell you now that Watchmen will be awesome.

Everyone -needs- to read the graphic novel though, and hopefully before you see the film.

Will watchmen be awesome?

Book to film adaptations don't always turn out to brilliant because the directors have to cut heaps of shit out to fit it into movie lentgh.

Lord of the Rings worked well because the movies were 3 hours each and the books were full of so much crap that it didnt matter that a lot of stuff got skipped because the story still worked well.

The Harry Potter movies fail if you've read the books because of all the stuff that is skipped.
The Da Vinci Code was also fairly crap.

I havent read the Watchmen novel yet, so i don't know what the movie might be like, but it does look pretty good so i'll be going to see it.

Back on the topic of Transformers: that trailer = fuck YES>

Graphics look absolutely fantastic.
I thought the first transformers movie was pretty good. not brilliant, but still pretty good (the awesome special effects and such probably sways you a bit :P)

Looking forward to it.

Yes. Even if it's crap, it'll still be awesome, cause it's watchmen. The worlds single most underated comic series ever made.

More than likely, the movie will not do the novel any justice, but it doesn't matter, because the fact that they've made a movie about it is exciting for fans enough. Transformers was never an underdog like the Watchmen series was, which is what makes the movie coming to theatres a bit special.

Saw Watchmen today, was good but not great. First half of the film was amazing but it really falls apart towards the end as it gets more stupid. Batman begins and Dark Knight suffered from the same problem, start off as great moody films but devolve into utter stupidity by the end, ruining the mood that the first 3/4 set up. Don't get my wrong, I still like Watchmen (and the 2 new Batman movies) but I was left feeling like they could've been better.
