Hi all,

Just signed up, some one told me about DM a while back and I just remembered today.
Will have to come to a LAN, havn't been to a LAN in about 3 years but I started LANing about 9 years ago and I am pritty well known amoung the old school lanners.

I have had quite a few project cars but this is my best one yet.

You probably read the title and thought... not another R33 with an exhaust and a pod filter, maybe even a PowerFC... but no I pulled the stock 2.5L engine out of my R33 about 2.5 years ago and it still isn't finished.

I am just getting a few custom fabrications finished off then I am flying a dyno tuner down from QLD to tune my car then it will be finished... I CAN'T WAIT!!!

(Just after I dropped the new engine in) Notice how much higher the 3L engine sits compared to the old 2.5L

(After intercooler piping got made up, the turbo setup has long gone and been replaced with a custom high mount manifold and a big Garret Turbo)

This is the turbo that got fitted recently

I will be pushing above 30psi of boost through this engine after its tuned so I am hoping for over 500HP at the wheels.

Super clean. Can't wait to see dyno figures once the builds complete.

Looks great too, which can't be said for all 33 skylines. How much did those siemens injectors set you back? (semen injector, HAH!)

They are actually Siemens Deka Racing type injectors so not the standard Siemens Deka ones, I went for the Racing type because they are good for methanol and other fuels, because I wanted to have to option of running methanol if I wanted to.
They where around $1400 for a set of 6 I think, you can get the non Racing type for like $600 for 6 on Ebay.

I also went for Racing type because they are a fairly large injector and I still wanted good response time, so the time it takes to fully open then close the injector, faster time makes it run better on low throttle. off the top of my head stock injectors are something like 0.8ms, deka's are 1.2ms and mine are like 0.3ms or somefin crazzy like that. I tuned the microtech my self just so that I could baby it around to work shops before it got tuned and I think it opens for 0.45ms at idle.

I have a Lexus Soarer 1JZ GTE (2.5L strait 6 twin turbo for thoes who don't know). This is my daily driver

I also have a Toyota Cressida which I am going to start working on soon.

I recently sold a Mazda MX6 Turbo and a manual R31 Skyline Silhouette.

For my last major project car I had a VS-S and rather than putting a V8 in it, I strapped a turbo to the stock V6.. was a bit of run, quite rare.
The picture was just after I got the turbo in there, I did a fair bit more work to it after that before I drove it :P

As you can see from my earlier pics of my skyline I painted the rocker covers blue, I wasn't too happy with the outcome so I sprayed a 2nd pair that I had lying around.
They came out much better, I have a vid to show how it was done.

Because I went with a blue die not a paint you can see the silver base coat when light reflects off it so it gives it a real shinny, candy look.

Rofl... its a 4 door R33. I have one, Sarah has one... I have only ever seen 1 other 4 door R33 in Tas.

Yeah skylines are fairly common but I would have to say there would be about 100,000 commodores in Tasmania to about 200 skylines.

I brought a V8 Celsior yesterday to add to my collection.

Twin 2.5" exhaust that never joins.

V8 gives out a top sound.

Will put pics up soon.

Update on this car: the work continues, it now has a 2" screamer pipe that dumps out infront of the rear wheel. I needed to do this because the 3" exhaust wasn't big enough to flow the ammount of power I want from this car so the 2" screamer will help out a lot there. I also didn't want to go to a 4" exhaust because it would sound like crap off boost and it already vibrates my house quite a lot while idleing.

A lot of the custom fabrications are now finished and it will be ready to go to on the rollers for tuning in a few weeks.
