HI All,

This concept is for DM-LAN X13 or X14 and not X12 (20th November 2009)

Dark-Media will be introducing an Online Payment System and removal of the pre registration method as this is an obsolete method of addressing numbers and clan seating arrangements.

The current concept model will be utilising PayPal and a flat-rate payment of $20 then on the night you will simply show your Student ID or Drivers Licence (Photo) for identity verification. If we still have seats left over before the LAN starts we will post online how many are available to purchase on the night, if in the situation that there are not any available you will not be allowed to enter the event.

Clans will be able to register five spot blocks along the tables if everyone in the clan as purchased an online ticket, once again this is all under planning stages but hopefully will speed up the entry process and confirm numbers.

Now is the time for everyone to pitch in some suggestions, not everything can be done but we do try and make DM-LAN and fun and fair environment.

Cheers,
Daniel

That is awesome. Go for it I say :)

With this, would you only be able to pay for yourself, or could you send payment through for someone else, say a younger brother?

Blocks of 5, could this be upped to blocks of 6? Because at X11 the TF2 tournament was played as 6v6 not 5v5 like the other tournaments. I also am led to believe it is ussually played as 6v6 (or sometimes 8v8) competitively online.

Otherwise great idea, hope to see it up and working in the future.

During the payment process we will be asking for First Name and Last Name this is where we will be matching up identifcation on the night.

jtickner1 :: I do like that idea and will be adding it in as well.

Remember this is all in planning and good suggestions have been made already.

Sounds good, you probably wont do this, but it might be worth adding a direct debt option for people without paypal. Just a thought, but it could take more time for you guys to manually check it once a day or w/e.

The great thing about PayPal is it does support Direct Debit and automates the validation of payments.

Will PayPal be mandatory for pre-registering? I have an account but the process of putting money in there from my main account takes freaking ages and I hardly ever use it anymore...

Uhh... I just pre paid but haven't booked a seat yet. I was wondering though if I had to book a seat to secure a spot at the lean or guarantee a random seat on the night?

You don't have to book a seat, there will always be a place for you at the event at any time. Seat booking is their for Clans or Team groups that wish to sit with each other.
