BetaLAN is a new LAN that will be held in the Launceston area.

We will have a full 10/100mb network with a gigabit backbone and able to hold around 80 people.

Yeah it's hosted from a home server. Doesn't get switched off. Will be looking into hosting it elsewhere a bit later on.

Its good to see another LAN in Tasmania.... I have noticed there is now three within Launcestion presently. Just be ready guys LAN's are not all fun and games they take a lot of time and perfection to make them rignt.

Thanks, I've noticed that there are quite a few lans around now. Not too sure how it is down your way.

We've been planning this for a few months now and have all our network gear ready. Shouldn't be long now until we host our first one.

I'd say roughly 20. That's why we're trying to get the word out, so more people know about the LAN, and hopefully resulting in more people interested in coming.
