Everyone here has at least one laptop except my wife & she wants one that is small light & compact.
I would like a min 80GB Hdd 1.6 processor & wireless.
It will most likely be used for looking around the internet & watching the occasional movie maybe, nothing very resource hungry. Pricing close to $300.00.
Suggestions please. :)

I have one of the Asus eee pcs as you know. They're pretty good so it might be worth looking for their older models.

Acer netbooks are also an option if you're willing to sacrifice on quality a bit.
* Intel Atom N450 1.66ghz CPU
* Webcam
* 10 Inch Screen
* 1 GB Ram
* 160 GB HDD
* Wifi
= $328 (shitty retail price)

My friend has an Acer netbook that serves his needs pretty well. Apparently it was also cheap.

Ended up with Asus 1001HA-BLK0055X from Harvey Norman $374.00.
Trouble was I went to Hobart store & even though it was in the catalogue I was told "We don't keep that brand because the Manager had a rub in with they & they won't handle any warranties from here" Then he tried to sell me a more expensive one. I left.
I then rang H/Norman Cambridge & some joker tells me "We don't keep that one & were not likely to be getting any but we do have these ones. They are only about $100 more.
I said No how do I get the one I asked for?
He went away came back & said there was only one showing in Devonport & that is the only one in Tas but we have these other ones. I said no.
He said he could ring them tomorrow & see if they still have it.
Next day (Sunday) I went down to Cambridge & another guy said we are sold out out but I'll check the computer. He then made a phone call & told me 6 in Devonport, 6 in Glenorchy & stock in Launceston!
This is the third time I've tried to buy a sale item at Harvey Norman & every time they didn't have it & tried to sell me something more expensive without offering to get the item in for me.
I had to go to 3 different Harvey Normans to get one when the first numb-nut could have just sent me to Glenorchy. Bad fucking service!
